Punjab is famous for its delicious food and Punjabi are known to be biggest food lovers.
Golden Temple is also home to the best food in the world. Everything in this city revolves around food. Kulchas, Lassi, Jalebi, Paranta you name it and it will be found in Amritsar.
Hers is a list of 5 Must-Have Amritsar Food:
1.Guru Ka Langar
When in Amritsar, do visit to Harmandir Sahib ( Golden Temple) which describes Amritsar as sarovar(pond) of Amrit ( holy water) . After taking a dip in holy water and offering prayers in Temple – which is consider as food for soul and having langar in Langar hall is consider as – food for body . So visiting Golden temple and having both is must . Guru Ka Langar , the largest free kitchen in the world! The volunteers here cook and serve a simple meal of dal, roti, sabzi and kheer to lakhs of devotees each day. Even if you don’t have the time for langar, don’t leave the Kara Prasad on your way out.

  1. Amritsari Kulcha
    Amritsar is synonymous with Kulchas . Kulcha is maida bread baked in a tandoor. Places are located beside the Golden Temple and the Wagah Border, Hall bazaar, Ranjit Aveneue , Sultanwind road , nearby Shaheedan Sahib Gurudwara . Each and every corner in Amritsar serves best Kulchas drenched in butter and puffed with potato, cauliflower , paneer . Kulcha is served alongside chana masala, sliced onions and tamarind chutney till 2 pm!! Kulcha land in Ranjit Avenue is must visit place.
    3 Kesar Da Dhaba
    Kaser Da Dhaba is located at Chowk Passian and is just a 10-minute walk from the Golden Temple is nothing short of an epicure’s paradise. They serve the best maa ki daal in the city. Also, eat and enjoy the delicious lachcha paratha, palak paneer and the smoky baigan bharta. If this wasn’t enough, or simply because you want to eat something sweet, don’t leave without tasting their phirni.
    Hall Bazaar
    Don’t miss to taste best Kulfa of your life to have a soulfull experience in Hall bazaar. Kulfa is an Amritsari version of kulfi, which is a sort of an ice cream, topped with noodles like falooda.

Beera Chicken House & Makhan Fish
The Beera Chicken House, located at Majitha Road makes delicious tandoori chicken. Makhan Fish & Chicken Corner is, home to the tastiest fish tikkas. These fish are from the Beas River and fried lightly & slowly in a batter.
